Malaysia to Enhance EV Charging Infrastructure with Real-Time Tracking System
English
- New Real-Time Tracking System: The Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT) is developing the e-Mobility Service Platform (eMSP) to provide live data on EV charging station usage and status.
- Integration Efforts: The platform, developed by MARii, will integrate with the existing Malaysia Electric Vehicle Charging Network (MEVnet) via API to ensure consistent and accurate data.
- Addressing Reliability Issues: The system aims to resolve common user complaints, such as inaccurate app status displays, broken chargers, and reduced power output due to simultaneous vehicle usage.
- Infrastructure Targets: Under the Low Carbon Mobility Action Plan 2021-2030, Malaysia set a goal of 10,000 public chargers by the end of 2025; however, only 5,360 were recorded by the end of 2025.
